Every time I read an Emily Henry rom-com, I think “hot damn, this is freaking amazing.” She balances laugh-out-loud witty banter with visceral emotion and character arcs like no one else. Her writing is sharp, snappy, and effortlessly clever. Basically, I end up finishing her books feeling like I want to start them all over again. And sometimes I do.

Book Lovers, in particular, speaks to me because of the spot-on descriptions of the joy great books can evoke. That feeling of effortlessly slipping into another world, no matter what misery or disaster is playing out in our real lives. Reading is a balm to the soul and an opportunity to catch our breath and revel in the ecstasy of storytelling. This novel captures that magic and heralds it with genuine gratitude and celebration. Bravo, Emily Henry!
